The online rumors are swirling, but Mu Yan seems unfazed, as she’s been going back and forth between home and the hospital with no work lately.Mu Chen is aware of the online matters too and asks her what’s going on with Lin Jiamu, but Mu Yan doesn’t say.

Mu Chen knows that Lin Jiamu likes his sister and always feels that there might be some misunderstanding in all this.

He watches Mu Yan pour him water, wash fruit, busy everywhere, and can’t help but ask, "Sis, did Brother Jia Mu really take drugs?"

"I don’t know."

"How can you not know? You’re so close to him."

Mu Yan hands the cup to him, saying indifferently, "You can know a person’s face but not their heart, to be honest, I don’t really understand him at all."

"But we are friends," Mu Chen says softly.

Friends? Mu Yan finds the word ironic, but she’s not as resistant as before.

"No matter how much you worry, it’s no use; it all depends on him."

Mu Chen hesitates a bit, then says, "I always feel like Brother Jia Mu is sort of self-destructive."

Mu Yan asks, "Should I go apologize to him then?"

Mu Chen freezes for a moment and shakes his head, "I think the sister wouldn’t hit him for no reason; surely, Brother Jia Mu must have done something wrong."

But he can’t think of anything that the kind and gentle Brother Jia Mu could have done that would be intolerable to his sister.

If there’s any hatred, it’s between her and Lin Jiamu, it doesn’t involve Mu Chen.

She doesn’t tell Mu Chen about the matter, also hoping he won’t be upset because of it.

Mu Yan smiles, pats his head, and says, "Good."
