Chapter 681: Yiyi, Isn’t Staying By My Side Good?
"You’ve become quite unruly these past two years without anyone caring for you. When we meet, you don’t even know how to greet someone?" He held her chin, forcing her to lift her head to meet his gaze.Sheng Yi loosened her tightly pursed lips: "The only thing I know how to call is for help."
Qin Bing frowned: "Have you been crying?"
Sheng Yi tightened her lips again.
Qin Bing moved his hand, which was holding her chin, from side to side and scrutinized her: "You wiped off the tear stains, but your eyes are swollen like a little rabbit. So, who bullied our Yiyi?"
"Who’s your Yiyi! I have nothing to do with you, and you won’t be my cousin in the future! I don’t have a cousin who wants to marry their own cousin!" Sheng Yi disliked being scrutinized by him and forcibly pried open the wrist gripping her chin.
"Ha—"
Qin Bing chuckled lightly, not angry even when his hand was pried away.
Instead, leisurely looked at the young girl in front of him, who was desperately trying to draw a line between them: "Yiyi is right, no more cousins in the future. Once we’re married, we’ll have a husband and wife relationship. Then calling ’cousin’ would be quite a novelty."
"..."
Sheng Yi said nothing, turning her face away.
She was planning to return to the country tonight.
But Qin Bing showed up.
And so precisely found her hotel and room.
He said he used connections and made a great effort to find her, which Sheng Yi didn’t doubt. It would be impossible for him to locate her so precisely without it. Manhattan isn’t huge, but it’s like finding a needle in a haystack to pinpoint one person.
Her cheek was cupped by the broad palm of the man, forcing her to lift her head once more.
Sheng Yi glared at him with a pair of resentful eyes, but the man didn’t care about what kind of look she gave him. Staring at her red and swollen eyes, caused by intense crying, he asked, "What on earth happened? Who made you cry?"
Sheng Yi pressed her lips tightly shut.
"Speak?" Qin Bing held her gently, refusing to let go.
Sheng Yi remained silent, clamping her mouth tightly shut.
Qin Bing raised his eyebrow, not angry, but uttered a half-threatening remark: "What, do you want me to pry open your disobedient mouth myself?"
Sheng Yi: "..."
After a long pause.
She spoke: "None of your business. Why are you asking about my matters? It’s none of your concern."
Each word and phrase seemed to be spoken with all her strength.
After speaking, she once again pried open his two hands: "Don’t touch me again."
Her reaction was like a hedgehog with its quills raised, not allowing anyone to touch or approach her.
Qin Bing figured it out. With one hand in his pocket, he looked at the fiery little girl in front of him, teasingly smiled: "Rushing to find this so-called secret crush of yours? Well then, can I assume, Yiyi, that your reaction shows you’ve realized the truth?!"
Sheng Yi faced him angrily: "None of your business. Please leave; this is my room."
With those words, Sheng Yi used her hands and feet to push him out.
But the man stood perfectly still, while Sheng Yi pushed him twice more before realizing something was wrong.
Qin Bing glanced outside the door.
Two bodyguards exchanged a knowing look and immediately closed the open room door.
Now there were only Sheng Yi and Qin Bing left in the suite.
Sheng Yi wasn’t foolish; she understood the man’s intentions toward her, and being alone with a man in a room was incredibly dangerous, causing her instinct to be to run and reach for the door handle.
However, the person behind her was faster, grabbing her wrist and pulling her back, causing Sheng Yi to crash into Qin Bing’s arms. She struggled to push him away, but his arm around her waist remained firm, causing Sheng Yi to panic, growing increasingly fearful: "Qin Bing, don’t you dare! You can’t treat me like this!"
She struggled and spoke: "I don’t want this, so what you’re doing is illegal."
Qin Bing looked down at the struggling young girl in his arms: "Oh, you don’t want this?"
Sheng Yi saw danger in the man’s eyes, along with an overpowering force, coming in an unstoppable wave.
"I don’t want this! Qin Bing, did you hear me? I don’t want this!!"
Sheng Yi was both angry and scared, having just faced the blow of unrequited love, she turned around and fell into the tiger’s den.
Who knows if the man intentionally loosened his grip or Sheng Yi was strong enough to push him away, but she turned to grab the door handle, pushing down twice before opening the door, only for a strong pressure to shut it again with a loud bang —
Turning around, Sheng Yi was tightly secured between the man approaching and the door.
She was about to move when the man’s voice, tinged with slight anger, sounded beside her ear: "Yiyi, isn’t staying by my side a good thing?"
