Chapter 405 - 379: So Much for a Genius
Chapter 405 - 379: So Much for a Genius
The pressure in the room grew immense. A table’s legs, bent by an unseen force, buckled, and it collapsed with a CRASH.
The terrified members of the Yamada Clan immediately backed away.
The energy now filling the room was more than they could withstand.
"Dawn, you’re no match for me right now. Hand over the box, and you can still be my dear little sister."
Dawn Miles’s face was deathly pale, and she could already taste blood in the back of her throat.
She had expended too much energy in her previous fight with the Basic Supervisor. If she tried to summon the Power of Heaven and Earth again, her body would never be able to handle it.
Elias Lennox’s Power Domain was crushing her, making it almost impossible to breathe.
She forced the words out between clenched teeth, "Ditto... Miles... destroy... the... box..."
Hearing this, Elias Lennox’s pupils contracted. The Power emanating from his body surged again. All affection for her vanished from his face, replaced by a look of destructive hatred.
"So I finally see the real you! My genius little sister..."
He threw a punch straight at her vital points. Dawn Miles swiftly blocked, but to her shock, he had broken through to the rank of Martial Lord.
A moment later, his palm struck her hard in the abdomen.
A fiery pain spread through her, as if her internal organs were about to be shattered.
"Father said you’re a once-in-a-century martial arts prodigy. Why are you so weak? You can’t even take one blow."
His tone changed, as if he’d become another person. His eyes were filled with cruelty and frenzied jealousy.
With a sharp CRACK of breaking bone, Dawn Miles’s body went flying like a kite with a cut string. She smashed through a wooden door and was thrown outside.
At the same time, Alvin Morgan’s voice emanated from Ditto Miles’s body: "Danger detected. Activating primary defense mode..."
Elias Lennox swiftly dodged the red laser beam, closing in on Ditto Miles with ghostly speed.
Just as he was about to punch, he felt an electric current. He faltered, narrowly avoiding a laser blade, and was forced to retreat again.
Elias Lennox wiped a smear of blood from his cheek and licked it off his finger.
A cruel smile touched his lips again. "It’s been a long time since anyone managed to wound me, not since I became the Shadow Master."
Ditto Miles locked onto him again and activated its Lighting Cannon, but Elias Lennox managed to narrowly dodge it every time.
"You want to kill me...? You’re not worthy..."
Unseen by the others, Dawn Miles slowly rose from the ground.
Her pupils had turned completely pale, and fine blue veins started bulging on her snow-white skin.
It was as if something was coursing through her veins.
Her hair whipped around in a sudden gale. She spread her arms wide, clenching her teeth as if enduring some tremendous pain.
The clear night sky grew darker and darker until a pitch-black cloud obscured the crescent moon.
The moonlight vanished completely, and the nearby lamps flickered out in the same instant.
It was as if the entire world had been plunged into darkness.
Fear filled the eyes of the Yamada Clan members. Someone, it’s unclear who, shouted, "Run—!"
In contrast, the smile on Elias Lennox’s face grew wider, his eyes gleaming. "Now this is more like it. This is a worthy opponent. Otherwise, you’d be a disgrace to all the praise Father showered on you throughout our childhood."
The decorative rockery behind him suddenly shifted, then began to rise as if lifted by some unseen force.
"Go—!"
Two immense powers collided violently. A destructive force radiated outward from the point of impact. Ditto Miles’s small frame was sent flying, the special metal on its chest already dented and twisted.
"Warning! Warning! Ditto Miles unit severely damaged! Warning! Warning..."
"Ditto Miles, get the secure case—!"
At that moment, surrounding trees, walls, and the wooden beams of buildings began to splinter and break.
A deafening RUMBLE, like an earthquake, erupted around the two combatants.
Suddenly, a teetering colossus began to fall toward them.
"Get down—!"
Dust filled the air, and the tremendous sound of the collapse echoed for a long time.
When the members of the Yamada Clan, who had dropped to the ground, cautiously raised their heads, they were stunned into a long silence.
The buildings in the entire courtyard looked as if they had been struck by heavy artillery. The once-stately pavilion was now a field of rubble, a shocking vista of shattered walls and broken ramparts.
"This... this is..."
Suddenly, a stone slab was pushed aside, and a figure climbed out from the ruins.
Then, a thunderous laugh erupted. "Hahahaha... I won! So much for the ’genius’... Hahahaha..."
"Mr. Harrow..."
"Dig her body out. I want to have a good, long look."
Elias Lennox’s pupils were tinged with a faint red, and the smile on his face was horrifying.
Howard Yamada froze.
As the sky gradually brightened and sunlight washed over the land, the members of the Yamada Clan were finally able to see the full extent of the scene in the courtyard.
Their pavilion, which had stood for centuries, now lay in a mangled heap on the ground.
What kind of power could create such a scene of devastation?
A flash of awe appeared in Howard Yamada’s eyes, and his respect for Elias Lennox deepened.
The Harrow Clan was truly worthy of its status as Royalty from the Ancient Times.
"Mr. Harrow, the documents..."
"Find my junior sister’s body first."
By now, the color of Elias Lennox’s eyes had returned to their usual sapphire blue, and a flicker of regret had appeared in their depths.
His hands, hanging at his sides, clenched into tight fists.
’How could *he* have come out so suddenly...?’
"Reporting to the Clan Leader, we haven’t found the body..."
Howard Yamada started. He shot a careful glance at Elias Lennox, then immediately ordered, "Search again, and be thorough—!"

A mountain stream trickled gently. The trees were lush, and many small animals scurried about.
From within the dense forest, a single beam of light finally pierced through the layers of leaves and branches, landing on a piece of metal that glinted in its ray.
A moment later, a red light suddenly began to glow on the piece of metal.
"Ditto Miles, initiating charging sequence..."
Next to the piece of metal lay a figure soaked in blood. Her exposed skin was covered in severe wounds that were still bleeding freely.
Half of her body was submerged in the creek, the water around her stained red.
Suddenly, the metal’s red light flickered a few times before the voice spoke again.
"Warning! Host’s vital signs are critical. Activating basic first-aid protocol."
A mechanical arm then emerged from its body, holding a small medical kit.
Opening it revealed several small vials of medicine.
The mechanical arm opened one of the vials and sprinkled the black powder within onto the girl’s wounded arm.
But soon, its power ran out, and it fell dormant once more.
Its long mechanical arm went limp, dropping to the ground. The vial it was holding rolled away, falling right into the nearby creek.
Instantly, a black, wispy substance floated on the creek’s surface, carried by the current to cling tightly to the girl’s body.
An unknown amount of time passed. The red-stained water of the creek gradually cleared.

The members of the Yamada Clan searched through the ruins for two or three days, but they still hadn’t found her.
"Mr. Harrow, she may have escaped."
Howard Yamada wore a cautious expression, but the man opposite him wasn’t as volatile as he had been that night.
He even offered a faint smile. "That’s to be expected. Her power is greater than mine."
"Should we widen the search area, then?"
"Forget it. If a Martial Lord wants to leave, no one can stop them." Inwardly, Elias Lennox breathed a sigh of relief.
"Will she come back and cause trouble for us?"
Howard Yamada was deeply worried. Although the Yamada Clan were descendants of a Martial God, their bloodline had thinned drastically over the past ten thousand years. The clan now numbered just over a hundred people in total. They couldn’t afford any more major upheavals.
Elias Lennox gazed at the distant mountains, a tightness in his chest. "This time..."
’Her odds aren’t good...’
