Chapter 511: No Objections
Chapter 511: No Objections
Watching Pei Baoshan riding the tricycle and bringing Wang Cuilan back, Jiang Ran started to laugh.
"Mom, Dad, you’re back!"
Pei Baoshan stopped the tricycle once he reached the gate.
After Wang Cuilan got off, Pei Baoshan followed suit.
The two walked towards Jiang Ran and nodded in satisfaction as they looked at the newly installed gate.
"The craftsmanship is really good," Pei Baoshan praised.
Wang Cuilan nodded along, "It’s nice, much better than just slapping some red paint on a random wooden board."
But the price must be higher too.
However, Wang Cuilan didn’t say this out loud.
The price doesn’t matter; what matters is the quality.
As long as it’s good, a higher price is understandable.
Despite growing up through tough times, Wang Cuilan understands the concept of getting what you pay for.
For such a courtyard house, the gate is one of the most important elements.
If the gate isn’t secure, wouldn’t outsiders easily break in?
So, in this regard, price isn’t the most important; sturdiness and quality are.
After Wang Cuilan and Pei Baoshan had admired the gate enough, Jiang Ran shared her idea with them.
Upon hearing Jiang Ran’s idea to put up a plaque, both Wang Cuilan and Pei Baoshan nodded enthusiastically in agreement.
Seeing their attitude, Jiang Ran couldn’t help but smile.
She had anticipated their response.
After all, whatever she thinks, whatever she wants to do, they usually have no objections.
But whether they have objections or not is their matter; what needs to be said must be said.
As for what exactly to inscribe on the plaque, neither Pei Baoshan nor Wang Cuilan had any opinions.
After exchanging a glance, Wang Cuilan spoke.
"Ranran, we don’t really know about these things. You write whatever you want."
"Yes, yes," Pei Baoshan also nodded, "Ranran, write whatever you want, we have no objections."
Jiang Ran smiled and nodded, "Okay."
She had already guessed it, there wouldn’t be any advice to get from the two of them.
But that’s alright, Jiang Ran had already planned to call Pei Huai in the evening to ask for his opinion.
Time flew by, and after dinner, when everyone else was busy with their own things, Jiang Ran picked up the phone and called Pei Huai.
The phone had barely rung once before it was answered.
"Hello."
Pei Huai’s voice came from the phone.
Hearing his familiar voice, Jiang Ran couldn’t help but laugh before speaking.
"Were you just waiting by the phone?" Jiang Ran asked with a smile.
If he wasn’t, how could he have answered just as soon as she called?
"I wasn’t exactly waiting by the phone," Pei Huai said slowly, "I was just about to call you, and then you called."
This explanation was even more heartwarming than waiting by the phone.
"Really? Are you saying this just to make me happy?"
"Of course not, it’s like we’re on the same wavelength."
Though it sounded like a cheesy line, at that moment, both the speaker and the listener found it delightful, prompting a smile.
That’s probably what it’s like to be in love.
What might sound terribly cheesy to others, to them, sounds like the most ordinary conversation.
