Chapter 2311 - 2310: Mu Mu
Chapter 2311 - 2310: Mu Mu
Ling Feng shouted a few more times, but there was no response from below. The woman might really have left.
After a while, Ling Feng hugged the tree trunk and started climbing down.
To be honest, after eating those fruits, he felt his body had become stronger. Hugging the tree trunk didn’t feel heavy at all, clearly an increase in strength.
Like that, Ling Feng slowly climbed down. It took a bit of time, but he reached the ground without much effort.
The branches on the ground indeed had no more fruits. The woman picked hundreds of them, leaving only a few broken ones untouched.
Ling Feng let out a sigh of relief, thinking that it was best this way—no awkwardness, and no worries about the woman coming after him for breaking their agreement.
Just as he was about to leave, a petite figure darted out from behind a tree: "Surprised, aren’t you? I didn’t leave!"
"What the heck!"
Ling Feng turned around and saw a petite woman dressed in clothes made of leaves, covering only the sensitive parts, with the rest of her body exposed.
Her skin was dark, but her eyes were sparkling!
She looked quite pretty.
If her skin were fairer, her looks would be comparable to Li Fei’er.
The reason for the comparison was that Ling Feng thought this girl was about seventeen or eighteen, similar to Li Fei’er, with a youthful face still untouched by maturity.
As they locked eyes, Ling Feng was a bit stunned. He swallowed and asked, "Why haven’t you left yet?"
The girl eyed him up and down with her big eyes, ignoring his question, and asked instead, "Are you from Ling Family Village?"
"Yeah, and you are?"
From her attire, Ling Feng knew she wasn’t from Ling Family Village.
"I’m from the Mu Family Village."
The girl said, taking a few steps forward.
She had a big basket on her back and a short dagger in her hand, looking somewhat hostile.
Seeing this, Ling Feng quickly said, "It was really a misunderstanding earlier. I had no idea someone was down there!"
"So you could just pee wherever you wanted up there?"
The girl’s voice was cold as she glared at him.
Ling Feng chuckled bitterly, "Indeed, I shouldn’t have. It was all my fault!"
"Hmph!"
The girl snorted coldly and then said, "Even if you helped me pick the fruits, that doesn’t make up for your mistake. That disgusting stuff splashed all over me!"
"I truly apologize. What would you consider as compensation? Would this work?"
Ling Feng didn’t want to cause trouble. Without absolute strength, he preferred not to make too many enemies.
So he reached to his waist and took out the beak of that big bird.
This item contained Xuan Qi and was the best thing he had at hand.
Sure enough, the girl’s eyes widened upon seeing it, and she stepped forward quickly, "Is this a Thunderbird’s beak?"
"Uh, yes!"
Ling Feng had no idea what a Thunderbird was, but nodded along.
"My goodness, it’s even a top-grade Thunderbird!"
The girl’s eyes were shining, and she almost pressed her face against Ling Feng’s hand.
Seeing her delight, Ling Feng said, "If you like it, I’ll give it to you. Would you forgive me then?"
"I would, definitely!"
The girl’s eyes never left it as she nodded vigorously.
Seeing her like this, Ling Feng was relieved and placed the bird beak in her hand.
The girl couldn’t put it down, playing with it while keeping her head down.
Seeing this, Ling Feng realized she had no scheming mind.
If she were somewhat calculative, she wouldn’t be so distracted in front of a stranger.
If he were to suddenly attack, she’d be in big trouble.
Of course, Ling Feng wasn’t that bad. After looking at her, he laughed and said, "Can I leave now?"
"Wait!"
The girl raised her head and immediately asked, "Did you kill a Thunderbird?"
"Yeah, what’s up?" asked Ling Feng.
"What’s up?" The girl’s voice went up a notch: "You’re that strong?"
"Uh, although the bird was big, it wasn’t particularly hard to handle, was it?" Ling Feng chuckled.
"..."
The girl was a bit stunned, widening her eyes, "Can you take me to see the Thunderbird’s body?"
"Sure!"
Ling Feng nodded. He didn’t have any specific tasks today, just came out to hunt, and now that he was full from those fruits, he could head back.
So, agreeing, he turned around and led the girl to the Thunderbird’s body.
As they walked, he curiously asked, "By the way, I still don’t know your name!"
"I’m Mu Mu."
The girl asked as they walked, "And you?"
"I’m Ling... Ling Xiao’er!"
Ling Feng rolled his eyes and didn’t give his real name.
Mu Mu nodded and continued, "You’re brave to come this far from the village!"
"Aren’t you the same? If I’m not mistaken, your Mu Family Village is quite far from here too, right?" Ling Feng asked with a smile.
"I have my ways, different from yours!"
Mu Mu pouted.
"Oh? What are your ways?" Ling Feng asked.
"Not telling you!"
Mu Mu frowned and gave him a wary glare, "It’s my secret!"
"Alright, no problem then!"
Ling Feng shrugged his shoulders and continued walking forward.
The two walked through the forest, strangely encountering no wild beasts, and smoothly reached the Thunderbird’s body.
Seeing the enormous bird, Mu Mu finally believed Ling Feng’s words and quickly went over.
"It’s really true!"
She raised her head, slightly bewildered, looking at Ling Feng with changed eyes.
Facing her astonished and admiring gaze, Ling Feng gave a proud smile, "Of course it’s true. Why would I lie to you?"
"Alright, I’m convinced. You’re really amazing!"
Mu Mu nodded, then looked at him, "Do you still want this body?"
Seeing the look in her eyes, Ling Feng knew what she was thinking and quickly nodded, "Of course I do. I promised the Ling Family Village people to bring back something delicious!"
"I see..."
Mu Mu looked disappointed at first, then suddenly looked at him expectantly, "Can I come with you?"
"Huh?"
Ling Feng was startled and asked in astonishment, "You want to come back to Ling Family Village with me?"
"Yes, mainly because I want to eat the Thunderbird’s meat!" Mu Mu said.
"But can you enter the village? There aren’t any conflicts between Mu Family Village and Ling Family Village, are there?" Ling Feng asked.
Mu Mu was taken aback, looking at him in surprise, "Don’t you know? Our two villages were originally one, but the Dragon Clan split us apart later on!"
"Uh, I’ve been a bit amnesiac lately, forgetting a lot of things," Ling Feng chuckled awkwardly.
"You forgot even that? You’re something!"
Mu Mu said, then looked at the Thunderbird’s body, "I’m coming along to help you; such a big bird, you can’t handle it alone!"
