Angela Scott sat on the sofa in Joshua Hughes’s office, holding her phone with enough of the information Joshua needed.
In fact, thoroughly searching wasn’t difficult, given she knew people at the airport. On that flight, she deduced about a dozen people were most likely suspects.
After investigating one by one, only one girl named Olivia Hamilton was the most likely, but she transferred from Sydney to Washington State.
Then she followed the lead to Washington State, where getting the travel permit took some time. Before arriving, she’d instructed friends in Washington State to check police records, and upon seeing the photos, she confidently affirmed Olivia Hamilton was Avery Jane.
She didn’t inform Joshua immediately, not wanting him to think finding Avery was too simple or easy.
The truth is, without Avery Jane’s phone call, she couldn’t have found her.
Angela didn’t want Joshua to feel she was taking too much advantage in their deal, so she waited until the deadline approached, demonstrating the task’s difficulty and showing she hadn’t broken her promise, arriving as planned.
