Chapter 357 - 359: They’re All Dead
Chapter 357 - 359: They’re All Dead
Seeing the live stream comments, Ming Yue gave another violent shudder. She trembled, at a loss for words.
But this time, Su Nian didn’t comfort her. Instead, she gave a grim nod.
"Yes. Those two things need a living body."
[Wh... what does that mean?]
[Oh my god, doesn’t that mean Ming Yue is doomed?]
[She won’t be! If she hadn’t met the Host, then she’d be truly doomed. But thank goodness, she found our Host!]
Ming Yue panicked as soon as she heard this. Her first instinct was to try calling the police and her parents again.
She had wanted to contact her parents and have them come get her as soon as Su Nian first gave her the warning.
But her messages just wouldn’t go through. She checked again now, and on the screen, the red loading circle was still spinning.
It still showed "Delivery Failed," next to a red exclamation mark. The only connection she had was to Su Nian’s livestream.
[Master, help me! He’s not going to eat me, is he?]
Ming Yue couldn’t stop trembling. The thought of the way her boyfriend looked, combined with his mother’s ethereal, wavering voice, sent goosebumps erupting across her skin. A chill crept up her spine, threatening to envelop her completely.
Her face was twisted in misery, her big, round eyes bloodshot. She looked utterly pitiful on the screen as tears streamed relentlessly down her cheeks.
[This is just awful. Why do girls always have to deal with stuff like this!]
[It’s bad enough having to deal with creepy guys, but why are ghosts like this too?]
But in the next second, a voice sounded from outside the coffin.
It sounded like a knock on a door, but at this moment, the only thing that could make such a sound was the coffin itself.
"Yueyue, are you asleep? Yueyue?"
The gentle male voice was filled with affection and sweetness.
But Su Nian quickly reminded her.
"React like you normally would. Don’t make him suspicious!"
Ming Yue took a deep breath.
She did her best to imitate her usual tone.
"What do you want? I just fell asleep. You’re so annoying!"
She whined playfully, then banged hard on the coffin as if she were extremely irritated.
Her reaction was just like always.
"Alright, alright. You go back to sleep. I won’t bother you."
The male voice replied from outside, and Ming Yue relaxed slightly.
In truth, her eyes were wide open, staring at the live stream comments, not daring to move a muscle.
Another ten minutes or so passed before the male voice sounded again, calling out softly once more.
"Yueyue, are you awake? Are you asleep?"
This time, his voice was gentle, and even more cautious.
But Ming Yue remained perfectly still, not making a sound, as if she were truly asleep.
"Alright, she’s asleep."
As if confirming that Ming Yue had fallen asleep, the voice outside changed abruptly. It lost all of its previous youthful energy and gentleness, becoming incredibly old.
"My dear, it’s been so hard on you, having to work overtime like this... good lord."
"It’s nothing. As long as I can have a young body, it’ll all be worth it."
"This time, we have to fulfill all the dreams we couldn’t before."
The old woman’s voice from outside held a hint of sweetness, but it made Ming Yue shudder from head to toe. ’Have I discovered some terrible truth?’
She was certain that the young man’s voice belonged to her boyfriend, Mo An. But why had it suddenly become so ancient?
[Holy shit, what did I just hear?]
[Why did he call her ’dear’?! I’ve figured something out from these breadcrumbs.]
[Those two are the real husband and wife!]
[But the guy’s body is so young!]
[And didn’t the Host do something to the video feed? Why are we still seeing him as a young man? That doesn’t make sense.]
[Don’t tell me the old lady found a young guy from the mortal world to be her boyfriend, and now she wants to be young again too?]
The guesses in the live comments grew increasingly wild, but none were correct.
[Host, what in the world is going on?]
[Something feels really off about this.]
Su Nian cleared her throat. Hearing their words, Ming Yue felt an uncontrollable urge to tremble, but she desperately fought it down.
She dug her nails fiercely into her arm, using the pain to keep herself alert. She absolutely could not show any sign that something was wrong.
Su Nian explained, "The two people outside are both dead."
