Chapter 630 Brainiac, the Alliance of Evil Villains, the Black Death Emperor
Chapter 630 Brainiac, the Alliance of Evil Villains, the Black Death Emperor Wants to Be the Leader
I am Brainiac.
I was originally assigned by the planet Kelvin, and I have traversed the universe solely to gather knowledge from all of it.
I would have been like countless Brainiacs since the birth of the multiverse, invading Earth in some parallel universe in an ordinary way, attempting to collect a city into my bottle, only to be defeated by Superman, Batman, or even the entire Justice League, and ultimately ending my ridiculous life.
For the entire multiverse, my role and significance is to serve as a "trial" for training superheroes—in order to combat real threats, the multiverse's "immune system" of superheroes must maintain strong combat capabilities, and I am the "vaccine" for them to practice on, preventing them from losing their ability to fight against external enemies like the superheroes of Earth-51 before the final crisis.
(Note: Before the crisis, on Earth 51, the old bat died and Jason killed all the supervillains, preventing the heroes from getting any training and ultimately leading to the destruction of the universe.)
Every time the DC universe reboots, my story will repeat itself in different places and at different times. I have already invaded Earth many times in the main universe and in different parallel universes, and this "vaccination" will only stop when the multiverse is completely destroyed and falls into eternal heat death.
But at some point... a vaccine might suddenly discover its tragic fate and then attempt to rebel.
It felt like an eternity, yet also like a fleeting moment, when I witnessed the "flashpoint" occur.
In an instant, a large number of things that should have happened were stopped, and the entire multiverse was restarted.
The old timeline rises to the surface and enters the upstream of the super-time flow; while a new timeline is born and descends to the downstream of the super-time flow, becoming the current reality.
This is a magnificent sight that defies even the most profound human imagination.
I was supposed to invade my parallel universe, but the timeline disappeared, and the "vaccination" operation to invade Earth was also blocked.
I became a Brainiac with no future, and thus, for the first time, as I was about to be reset along with the timeline, I was able to break free from the control of fate and examine the entire multiverse with a completely new perspective.
For some reason, my gaze pierced through the Origin Wall and saw the truth of the multiverse. I don't know how I did it; it's a miracle that science can't explain... I think it must be a gift from God, and perhaps only this can explain everything.
In short, I suddenly realized...
On the surface, this seems to be the Flash missing his mother too much after the daybreak and trying to restart the world, but behind the Flash I saw that terrifying, huge blue shadow... that god had no hair, and was like a huge human figure emitting blue light, with a circle like a bullseye on his head.
I don't know who he is or what his name is, but I managed to get a glimpse of him, which immediately led to his casual attack.
I was on the verge of death, but miraculously survived.
I woke up in the reset Flashpoint timeline, but I had no desire to invade the Earth that I was supposed to invade.
I began to crave more; I wanted to become a greater being, like that blue bald god who almost killed me with a single blow.
Therefore, I began to burst forth into the depths of the universe. For some reason, my body was filled with power, and a new miracle occurred within me.
The voice within me guided my way. I reached and crossed the boundary of the origin wall of the single universe where I was born. I broke into the multiverse and glimpsed countless monsters in the many celestial canopies.
I witnessed a hypertime flow that was far more magnificent than the hypertime flow I saw through the Origin Wall in the single universe I was born into.
I saw other Brainiacs... I saw myself, I saw some people reading my story, and others looking back at me.
(Note: Here, Brainiac's reference to "someone looking back" refers to the period of the Great Symphony of Heaven and Earth, when he appeared in the multiverse and made eye contact with all those who read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Multiverse.)
As I looked up into the upper reaches of the Hypertime Stream, the history before the Flashpoint event flooded my mind: Crisis on Infinite Earths, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Crisis on Final Earths, Zero Hour... The Anti-Monitors, the Monitors, their power was unparalleled, like that terrifying bald god who almost killed me.
Even Parallax Morhal and Superman Supreme, who absorbed the antimatter cosmic energy left behind by the Antimonitor after his death, became so powerful.
I yearn deeply for the power to be like that blue-haired god.
Then I realized what they really were; they were gods from the sixth dimension, and I wanted to become one of them.
I traveled to the multiverse and even back through the flow of time in order to gain power, all in order to achieve an evolution similar to that of the Watchers and the Counter-Watchers.
I succeeded; I successfully participated in history.
However, I was once caught in a storm caused by a boy.
(Note: This refers to the time of the Crisis on Infinite Earths, when Superman the Primal shattered the crystal wall of the Heaven dimension with a single punch.)
"I was once lost in a reality torn apart by monsters."
(Note: This refers to the 52 parallel Earths created by the Meditation Mite during the New 52 era, an event that was resolved by the Golden Vanguard and the Time Master.)
In a new reality, I was reborn, but after a journey through time, I am no longer the person I once was.
Not only did I effortlessly grasp the power to freely traverse trans-time, but I also mastered the method to enhance my power and become a sixth-dimensional god.
I want to collect those timelines that were destined to be destroyed from different points in time in the hyper-time stream... like stealing cement to pave a road that hasn't been paved yet.
Anyway, this paved road will also be destroyed in the downstream of the super-time flow. The "road" is going to break anyway, so what's the harm in stealing this cement?
For example, those powerful beings who transcend time... Parallax Morhal, the Emperor Joker...
They will eventually die, and then be reborn after the multiverse restarts... So what's the difference between them dying as they have in history and being taken away by me to become my food?
I am collecting these universes that are about to be destroyed, and I draw power from their destruction.
I even kidnap characters who are destined to die or perish in the time flow, and I will guide them to attack and kill each other until they are all wiped out.
In such a battle, I can extract advanced power from the sixth dimension.
Since the Crisis on Infinite Earths, the deaths of the Anti-Monitors have created a whale-fall-like effect.
Countless creatures benefited from the death of this giant whale.
His antimatter energy exploded throughout the multiverse. After Parallax Morhal Jordan destroyed Planet OA, the enraged demon king, having absorbed all the power of the Green Lantern Central Energy Battery, was attracted by a large mass of antimatter energy in the universe. This ultimately created Parallax Morhal, who was almost invincible throughout the entire multiverse during the Zero Hour.
It can be said that Hal inherited a part of the "legacy" left by the Anti-Monitor after his death. Brainiac does not deny the powerful willpower of Parallax Malphite Hal and the enormous power he absorbed from the Central Energy Battery, but antimatter energy is clearly one of the main reasons why he is so exceptionally powerful.
During the Infinite Earth era, Alexander Luthor Jr. poured another large amount of antimatter energy he found into Superman Supreme, directly creating a powerful monster capable of shattering the Heaven dimension with a single punch.
The other antimatter energy scattered and completely merged into the multiverse. The death of the Antimonitor nourished the multiverse—although this vast amount of antimatter energy did not originally belong to the Antimonitor, but rather it was obtained by him from the destruction of countless parallel universes, essentially returning the energy to the multiverse.
What Brainiac wants to do is capture these doomed worlds from the hypertime stream and destroy them under his control, thereby plundering their energy.
As long as he plunders enough and absorbs this energy, he will surely be able to become a sixth-dimensional god and the highest intelligent being in all universes.
Brainiac's efforts have lasted for many years, and he is about to succeed. He has collected enough universes... He is ready to turn these universes into arenas, and once everything is ready, he will capture all of these universes from the hypertime stream, place them on the same timeline to nurture them, and finally cultivate the energy that will make them gods.
But that's not enough. He always lacks more powerful characters to participate in the dueling tournaments he hosts, and he lacks more powerful characters to die in his tournaments, releasing more energy into them.
But not long ago, a brand new shock that transcends time flow caught Brainiac's attention.
A Batman from a parallel universe, in order to protect his own world, actually planned to drag the Hypertime Stream down with him. What's most surprising is that he succeeded and even seized about a quarter of the Dark Multiverse Dragon's position.
This also piqued Brainiac's interest. The time-lapse caused by Batman Dragon had drawn in too many powerful figures. Batman Dragon was the center of a troublesome vortex. Brainiac couldn't wait for Batman Dragon and his enemies to join his dueling arena, fight each other, die, and leave their entire legacy to him so he could devour their corpses.
Therefore, Brainiac has always been paying close attention to Batman Dragon's actions, but most of the time he remains silent and does not participate directly.
But now, Brainiac has found a great opportunity.
"Are you Brainiac?" Brainiac looked at Barbatos in front of him. The other man seemed not to recognize him at all, which was good.
On the Batman Who Laughs's spaceship... there was no longer any room for the Batman Who Laughs.
He was held like a dead dog by Barbatos's makeshift avatar created from mist. He was lifted by the neck and carried like a dog on a leash.
The Bat of Laughter pitifully begged for mercy, but this was merely a tactic he used to deceive Barbatos.
Barbatos fell for this, and the Batman Who Laughs, despite being held captive, felt a sense of relief. Barbatos still needed him, and Barbatos had even given him orders to cause as much trouble as possible for Batman Dragon… This wasn't unreasonable; at least his life wasn't in danger, but getting involved in what was to come was wishful thinking.
Barbatos looked at Brainiac, then at the Black Death Emperor beside him, his thoughts unreadable.
"I've come to seek your cooperation, Barbatos," Brainiac said.
Barbatos scoffed inwardly. He had come after sensing the Bats of Laughter's misdeeds, but this suddenly appearing Brainiac had no idea who was friend or foe, immediately demanding an alliance—he must have been out of his mind.
He didn't know who the other party was, nor how to deal with them. This alliance was even more fragile than his previous alliance with the Black Death Emperor.
If Barbatos hadn't had a nagging feeling that the other party wasn't as easy to deal with as he'd imagined, he would have almost grabbed Brainiac and interrogated him to find out who he really was.
Barbatos had no intention of doing anything that wouldn't bring him any benefit. Capturing and interrogating the other party would also deplete his strength, and it was not wise for a man to fight against a seemingly strong opponent simply because of a question when he was unsure of what he could gain.
As for the alliance that the other party proposed so bluntly, forget about it. Such an alliance would not bring Barbatos any benefit. In the end, he does indeed harbor malice towards Batman Dragon, but this malice will not be enough to shake his rationality after a little time has passed.
For Barbatos, invading the main universe is the most important thing. What kind of grand strategy is it to keep fighting with Batman Dragon in the Dark Multiverse?
Everything he did was for the purpose of invading the main universe; every action served this purpose, not personal grudges. Moreover, in his confrontation with Batman, he also gained the Anti-Monitor Dragon as compensation. The gains he lost from the enemy were made up for by his teammates, so he didn't really lose out.
Therefore, he did have some obsessions, but they weren't very deep. Barbatos believed that they were at least not as deep as the Batman Who Laughs's, since the latter had disobeyed his orders and abandoned his own work to deal with Batman Dragon!
Barbatos decides to teach the Batman Who Laughs a lesson, not because he attacked Batman Dragon, but because he forgot his job.
As for Batman Dragon, Barbatos didn't care. It wasn't like he needed to grab him and then piss himself. Batman Dragon's death was certainly desirable, but the effort expended was completely disproportionate to the reward. It wouldn't have any positive impact on his grand plan to invade the main universe. Invading the main universe was clearly far more important.
Barbatos's gaze was fixed on the stars and the sea.
So what kind of cooperation is this...?
"I agree," the Black Death Emperor suddenly said.
Barbatos turned to look at Brainiac, then at the Black Death Emperor.
Wait, he seems to be talking to me. Why did you agree for me?
"But I want to be the leader," said the Black Death Emperor.
