Chapter 12 Deliveryman Accidentally Stumbles into Gang Deal
Shen Li's ears immediately perked up. This was important information!
Film studios are gathering places for extras, stuntmen, and all kinds of film crews. There are many opportunities, and the place is full of all sorts of people. You might even be able to get a job that's more prestigious than being a "pool backdrop"!
"Brother Xiong, does your senior brother have a wide network of connections in the film and television city?" Shen Li asked casually.
"It's alright. I've been doing this for several years now and know quite a few assistant directors and stunt cop." Xiong Rui didn't think much of it. "What's up? You want to go too? You're from the acting department, so going over there to work on film sets would be a good fit."
"Hey, I was just thinking of having more options," Shen Li said with a sincere smile. "Brother Xiong, when is it convenient for your senior brother to introduce us? I'll treat him to dinner!"
"Don't mention it! It's no trouble at all!" Xiong Rui readily agreed. "I'll ask him when he's free, and we'll make a date!"
"Alright! Brother Xiong is so righteous!" Shen Li was overjoyed.
What do you call this? You call it a windfall, a meat-filled one at that!
As they were talking, Shen Li caught a glimpse of a figure walking out of the side door of the gymnasium.
Hey!
I had no idea what I was seeing; when I did, I was almost scared out of my wits.
It was a girl wearing a black sports vest with very little fabric, tightly wrapping her breasts, which were so prominent they seemed about to burst out. They trembled slightly with each step she took, as if they were about to break free of their restraints and burst out of her clothes at any moment.
The hem of the vest just reached her ribs, revealing a flat, firm waist with clearly defined abs. Her waist was so slender that it felt like you could pinch it with your hands.
She wore a pair of fluorescent pink tight yoga shorts, so short they were breathtaking, just covering her round, perky, and amazingly curved buttocks.
Her two long, straight legs had smooth, firm muscle lines, and her wheat-colored skin shone with a healthy glow in the sunlight, with fine beads of sweat clinging to them, adding to her wild allure.
She wore a neat high ponytail, revealing a smooth, full forehead and a beautifully shaped jawline. Her features were strikingly beautiful, with thick eyebrows, large eyes, a high nose bridge, full, moist lips, and slightly upturned corners that hinted at a rebellious spirit.
She was walking along, wiping her sweat with a towel. Her movements were casual yet powerful. Her waist swayed gracefully, her hips moving with an effortless grace that made one's blood boil and heart race.
Shen Li felt like her eyes were about to pop out of their sockets, so she quickly recited "If the heart is pure, one will not be alarmed even if the sky falls" to forcefully pull her gaze away from that body full of wild beauty.
Who is this? That figure, that aura, that look—it's amazing! How come I've never seen him before?
Xiong Rui, on the other hand, was very outgoing and greeted her directly: "Hey! Junior sister! Finished practicing?"
The girl looked up, saw Xiong Rui, and smiled, "Senior Brother Xiong, you're here too. Just finished your boxing match?"
His voice was slightly husky and magnetic, lazy yet alluring, making Shen Li's ears feel a little tingly.
"That's right! By the way, let me introduce you. This is my roommate from the dorm next door, Shen Li, from the performing arts department."
Xiong Rui patted Shen Li on the shoulder (almost knocking him over again), "Shen Li, this is my junior sister, she majors in martial arts, her name is..."
"My name is Fang Ying." The girl took over the conversation herself, her slightly wild eyes looking at Shen Li, sizing her up and down with a scrutinizing and playful look in her eyes, "A performance major? No wonder, you're not bad looking."
Shen Li: "..."
What do you mean by "not bad looking"? Are you praising someone or picking out livestock, lady?
But who is Shen Li? She's a master of deception and cunning, with a skin thicker than a city wall. How could she not handle this little situation?
He instantly switched to "harmless junior" mode, a sincere yet slightly shy smile spreading across his face: "Hello, Senior Sister Fang Ying! Brother Xiong, your junior sister's aura is truly remarkable; she's a woman who's just as capable as any man, so dashing and heroic!"
Fang Ying raised an eyebrow, seemingly unmoved by the flattery. She unscrewed the water bottle in her hand and took a big gulp.
Her neck formed a graceful arc, her Adam's apple bobbed slightly, and a few drops of water slid down the corners of her mouth, along her jawline, and dripped into the delicate hollow of her collarbone. Further down... Shen Li quickly looked away.
"Alright, you guys chat, I'm going back to take a shower first." Fang Ying tossed her ponytail, draped a towel over her shoulder, and swayed away gracefully with her incredibly long legs.
That figure had broad shoulders, a slim waist, and a pert bottom, with muscle lines that were faintly visible as it moved, exuding a powerful and explosive beauty that was completely different from the graceful style of dance majors.
Shen Li watched the figure disappear around the corner before letting out a long sigh of relief.
"How was it?" Xiong Rui nudged him with his elbow, winking and making faces. "My junior sister, isn't she amazing? She's a martial arts major, proficient in Sanda, Taekwondo, and Judo. Don't let her pretty face fool you, when she gets into a fight, three or five strong men can't even get close to her."
"I can tell..." Shen Li nodded, still shaken. "That aura, those muscle lines, you can tell he's a trained fighter. Brother Xiong, are all martial arts majors this... fierce?"
"Of course!" Xiong Rui said proudly. "In our line of work, we need both inner and outer strength, and a balance of power and gentleness. By the way, don't even think about hitting on her. My junior sister has very high standards. The men who wanted to date her could line up from the martial arts gym all the way to the school gate, but she chased them all away."
"No, no!" Shen Li waved her hands repeatedly, "I'm just admiring, admiring!"
In his mind, however, he silently labeled this "Senior Sister Fang Ying": martial arts professional, SSR in combat power, SSR in figure and looks, with a fiery, unrestrained, and slightly roguish personality—a dangerous species that is "to be admired from afar but not to be trifled with." He was listed as a "highly observed subject" and kept at a safe distance for the time being.
After saying goodbye to Xiong Rui, Shen Li went to the west gate to retrieve the eyebrow-length stick (good heavens, it was over two meters long and incredibly heavy), and huffed and puffed as she carried it back to her dormitory.
Yang Yi was reading a book when he saw Shen Li carrying a stick in and was startled: "Shen Li, you've switched to martial arts?"
"I picked up a package for Brother Xiong next door." Shen Li put the stick against the wall, wiped her sweat, and said, "This thing is really heavy."
Jing Yang was grooming his eyebrows in front of the mirror, not even turning his head: "You're always bringing water and sticks, do you really think you're some kind of campus delivery guy? Shen Li, you're supposed to be in the performing arts department, can't you have some ambition? Are you ready for the impromptu skit assessment?"
"That's exactly what I'm thinking about," Shen Li said, slumping in her chair. "Young Master Jing, what brilliant ideas do you have?"
Jing Yang put down his eyebrow trimmer, turned around, and said with a profound and inscrutable expression, "Improvisation is all about 'conviction.' You have to believe that you are that character, that person, in that situation. For example, if you were to play a loser who has a crush on a goddess, you have to genuinely feel that unrequited love and the agonizing pain of unrequited love..."
"Alright, alright, Young Master Jing, your theories are so eloquent," Shen Li interrupted him. "The key is, who knows what topic we'll get during the assessment? What if I get a 'delivery driver accidentally stumbles into a gang deal' scenario? Where am I supposed to find my conviction?"
