Chapter 27 Talent Scout Li Yuan
Chapter 27 Talent Scout Li Yuan
And so, Huang Lizhi remained somewhat silent for the rest of the journey.
"Let's go, this shop looks quite interesting." Li Yuan, unaware of her subtle thoughts, pointed to a cultural and creative shop next door and then went in with Huang Lizhi.
As Li Yuangang stepped through the door, he heard a girl's slightly surprised voice coming from behind the shelves:
"Zhenshuai, look how interesting this doll is!"
Upon hearing that familiar name, Li Yuan instinctively looked in the direction from which the voice came.
Then he saw a familiar yet unfamiliar figure.
Pei Zhenshuai.
She was wearing a light-colored summer outfit, with sweatpants on her bottoms and white sneakers on her feet. She looked as youthful as a high school student who had just graduated from school.
No, she should be a middle school student now.
She was standing in front of a shelf full of plush toys, holding a fluffy Chunzhi plush toy in her hand, tilting her head and talking to her friend beside her.
"Wait here for me for a moment," Li Yuan said to Huang Lizhi, turning his head, before walking towards the three girls.
Huang Lizhi watched curiously as Li Yuan walked towards the three girls who looked like high school students.
If she remembered correctly, she should be able to recognize all the Korean acquaintances that Lee Won knew, but she was certain that these three girls were not among them.
Could he be Chinese?
No, that doesn't sound like it. It's clearly a dialect from Gyeongsang Province, and you can tell at a glance that it's spoken by a native Korean.
"Hello, may I ask if we can get to know each other?" Li Yuan walked up to the three of them and asked the question directly.
Bae Jin-sul didn't react immediately. She was still holding the Chun-sik doll in her hand, looking at the unfamiliar young man in front of her with a somewhat blank expression.
But her friend reacted much faster. Looking at the handsome Li Yuan, her eyes lit up, and she immediately pulled out her phone: "Oppa, do you want to add me on WeChat?"
"No." Li Yuan shook his head, then turned his gaze to Pei Zhenlu, his eyes serious and focused. "Are you interested in singing and dancing?"
"Interested!" Before Pei Zhenlu could even speak, her friend next to her blurted out, "She sings and dances exceptionally well! Look at her height, those long legs, she was born for the stage!"
As she spoke, she gestured with her hand to indicate Bae Jin-sul's height.
Pei Zhenlu glanced at his friend, somewhat speechless.
She clearly knows nothing, yet this person has gone completely crazy just to chat up a handsome guy.
"So you're interested?" Li Yuan asked, looking at Pei Zhenshu.
"I am indeed a little tempted," Pei Zhenlu said honestly, "but actually I have absolutely no background. Completely zero experience, I can't even dance."
She paused, then added, "And why did you ask that, Oppa? Who... are you?"
"Actually, I'm a talent scout from JYP Entertainment." Li Yuan raised an eyebrow, a slight smile playing on his lips. "Seeing your image, I think you're a perfect fit for JYP."
"Old Park, I've found you a great prospect," Li Yuan muttered to himself.
To everyone's surprise, Pei Zhenlu shook her head, and her two friends looked at her with suspicion.
"Don't I look like it?" Li Yuan couldn't help but turn around and ask Huang Lizhi, who was walking over.
Aside from being a bit handsome, I don't seem to be any different from an ordinary passerby.
Doesn't it look like a talent scout?
Huang Lizhi hesitated for a moment, his gaze lingering on Li Yuan's face for a second, before finally shaking his head.
She had seen JYP's talent scouts; most of them were middle-aged men in their thirties or forties, wearing formal suits and carrying business card holders, and they had nothing in common with Li Yuan.
"Where would you find a talent scout this young?" Bae Jin-sol couldn't help but say. "And... Oppa's pretty handsome too."
The other two girls nodded in agreement, their voices ringing out in unison.
"Then it seems I'll have to prove it to you." Li Yuan thought for a moment, initially wanting to introduce Huang Lizhi beside him, but then decided against it.
Huang Lizhi is about to debut, and if some rumors come out later that he "went shopping with strange men during his trainee days," it will be all over.
"Shall I take you to the JYP building?" Li Yuan changed his approach. "Once we're there, the staff can verify my identity. Surely no one would dare impersonate a talent scout in front of the JYP building, right?"
"If Oppa can really take us to the building, we'll believe you!" one of Bae Jin-sol's classmates said.
The JYP building is off-limits to staff, trainees, and artists; ordinary people can't even get through the door.
If this person can really take them in, then at least it proves he's not a scammer.
"Okay." Li Yuan readily agreed, then turned to Huang Lizhi and said, "Let's go, let's go to the company with them first."
After leaving the cultural and creative store, the group hailed a taxi and headed straight for the JYP building.
As Li Yuan was about to push open the door to enter the JYP building, a middle-aged man in his forties walked out from inside.
He was dressed in a dark suit, his hair was neatly combed, and he was holding a folder in his hand—the standard attire of a talent scout.
He looked up and saw Li Yuan, paused for a moment, then quickly walked over, bowed slightly, and greeted him: "Li Yuan-xi, long time no see."
His gaze shifted from Li Yuan to the three girls behind him, his eyes narrowing slightly with a professional scrutiny and assessment, before returning to Li Yuan.
"Are these the trainees that Lee Won-xi brought?"
There's a trainee in the company who was "lured" by Lee Won last year when he went to watch the KBS Song Festival. I heard he performed quite well, and the teachers in the new talent development team have been full of praise for him.
Judging from the current situation, it seems that Li Yuan has discovered another promising talent from somewhere.
Then he noticed the person next to Li Yuan: "Huang..."
He had just opened his mouth when he abruptly stopped.
Isn't this the trainee who's about to debut?
Is she with Li Yuan?
"This is my sister," Li Yuan explained casually when he saw his confusion. "I'll go inside now."
"Yes." The talent scout nodded knowingly and stepped aside to make way.
Bae Jin-sol and her two friends followed Lee Won and cautiously stepped into the JYP building.
But what shocked them even more was yet to come.
JYP staff barely asked Bae Jinsol for information, there was no interview, no talent show, and they didn't even let her fill out a basic information form before directly presenting her with a trainee contract.
Pei Zhenlu moved so fast that he didn't even have time to react before he came out with the contract.
She stood at the building entrance, looking down at the heavy contract in her hand, completely bewildered.
"So... is Oppa really a talent scout?" Bae Jinsol looked up at Lee Won and couldn't help but ask.
If it weren't for the contract in her hand and the person in front of her, what she had just experienced would have felt like an unreal dream.
"What, does it look like it now?" Li Yuan raised an eyebrow with a hint of smugness.
"Now that things are like this, whatever you say goes." Bae Jin-sol looked at the pile of shopping bags that Lee Won had bought from the mall in his hands and quickly stepped forward. "How about I help you carry them, Oppa? It's tiring for one person to carry so many things."
"Only now you're trying to curry favor?" Li Yuan shook his head with a smile, switching the shopping bag to his other hand. "Too late. Why weren't you this eager when we were in the store?"
Pei Zhenlu smiled sheepishly.
Li Yuan's previous demeanor really resembled that of a conman trying to pick up naive young girls.
