Chapter 633 633: Development Progress and Conversations in the Break Room
Now that they had accepted the TGA invitation and announced that a new game would be revealed, the development of Bloodborne and Salt and Sanctuary needed to speed up.
Not only did they have to continue development, but they also needed to produce promotional PVs for both games during this period, and those PVs had to include actual gameplay footage.
Fortunately, the company now had sufficient manpower. While the two development teams continued their work, other teams, such as the one responsible for Fall Guys operations and the Monster Train development team, could later spare some members to help produce the promotional PVs.
Especially the Monster Train team, whose development had already reached its final stage. By the end of October or early November, the game would basically be completed and enter the final polishing and debugging phase.
The progress of Monster Train was also very smooth. Every time Ichin checked in every couple of days, he would see something new added by the team.
At this point, the four clans in the game had already been completed, and the team was working on the final one, along with some in-game items and cards.
After making a round, Ichin returned to the Bloodborne development team and continued his work, setting AI for several monsters and adjusting parameters.
With about another week of work, the basic combat systems of Bloodborne would be completed. After that, by adding some environments and creating models for two bosses, along with simple movement, they would be able to start producing the game's PV.
Everything was progressing just as ideally planned.
At four in the afternoon, Utaha and Yukino arrived at the company together. They both had classes earlier that day. After finishing hers, Utaha waited for Yukino to finish another class before coming together.
As expected, Ichin was not in the office. Utaha looked at Yukino and asked, "So, should we go downstairs to find him, or just rest here for a bit?"
"What about you, Utaha?"
"I'll go take a look downstairs."
Yukino nodded. "Then I'll make some coffee. After class, I'm a bit tired."
"Okay, add extra sugar for me!"
After putting their things down, one of them headed to the development floor, while the other went to the break room to make coffee.
When Yukino arrived at the break room, she saw Hazuki there, picking up some snacks.
"Good afternoon, Hazuki-san."
Seeing Yukino, Hazuki smiled. "Good afternoon, Yukino. Just finished your classes?"
Yukino nodded, took out some coffee beans from the cabinet, and started grinding them as she said, "Yes, just finished. Utaha and I haven't been coming to the company much these past few days. Is everyone busy? By the way, would you like some coffee?"
"Mm, make me a cup too. As for being busy, of course we are. Two new projects just started, and we need to prepare PVs for December. A lot of plans have to be adjusted. But it's not too bad. Everyone doesn't mind this kind of fulfilling work, and we're not working overtime, right?"
Yukino nodded in agreement. "That's true. As long as the plans are properly arranged, there's no need for overtime. Everyone can rest well and come back the next day with full energy. But unfortunately, situations like this are rare. Companies like ours are in the minority."
"There's nothing we can do about that," Hazuki said as she ate a cookie and handed one to Yukino as well. "All we can do is handle things well on our end. The rest isn't our concern, and there's no need to worry about it. Anyway, enough about that. Yukino, how's your preparation for graduatation going?"
"There shouldn't be any major issues. I've already discussed it with my department advisor. I just need to take the exam next July."
Talking about graduatation was one of the reasons Yukino had been under a lot of pressure recently. She needed to prepare many things and also dedicate more time to studying, especially since she was majoring in law.
Looking at Yukino's confident expression, Hazuki smiled. "That's great. When the time comes, we can leave the company's legal matters to you."
Yukino showed a hint of anticipation as well. "Leave it to me."
Soon, the coffee was ready. After pouring a cup for Hazuki, Yukino poured one for herself and one for Utaha, adding extra sugar and milk to Utaha's.
Seeing that there was still some coffee left, Yukino thought for a moment and took out her phone to call Utaha.
"Utaha, ask Ichin if he wants coffee."
"Alright." Utaha nodded and turned to Ichin, who was sitting beside her. "Ichin, want some coffee? Yukino just made some."
Ichin, who was rapidly typing on the keyboard, responded, "Yeah, bring me a cup. I've finished mine."
Utaha spoke into the phone again, "You heard him. Do you want me to come help carry it?"
"No need. Hazuki-san said she'll come down with me and help carry it."
After hanging up, Yukino picked up two cups of coffee, while Hazuki carried hers and Ichin's. The two of them headed downstairs together.
Walking beside Yukino, Hazuki said with interest, "Yukino, the way you address Ichin… it really shows your relationship isn't ordinary."
Yukino's expression remained unchanged as she replied calmly, "The surprising part is that you've held back until now before saying anything. Utaha and I noticed long ago that you've been observing us."
"Of course, I've been observing," Hazuki said with a smile. "Because it really surprised me. Your family actually agrees with this kind of relationship?"
Yukino thought for a moment before replying, "At first, they weren't very willing. But I had a proper talk with my mother. And in any case, at least the issue of a future heir doesn't need much concern anymore."
"Heir? Haha, is that how it works? You mean you and Ichin's child?"
At the mention of children, Yukino couldn't help but blush slightly, but she still nodded. "Yes. My mother was the one who brought it up to Ichin back then. I didn't expect it either, but it's not a big problem. And this way, my sister doesn't have to marry someone she doesn't like. She can focus on developing the family business, and if she meets someone she truly likes, then that would be perfect."
"That does sound like something to be happy about. As long as you're all fine with it."
Hazuki didn't probe any further. She had already understood the situation clearly. The three of them had long grown accustomed to this kind of relationship.
Since she wasn't directly involved, all she needed to do was watch quietly and offer her blessings.
When they arrived at the development floor, Hazuki handed the coffee to Ichin. Watching Utaha and Yukino standing on either side of him, chatting about their day at campus, the smile on her face grew even more pronounced.
